I think it's the *onslaught* of events, demands, emotions that makes us
wonder. I know I can usually handle crises when/if they arrive at my
emotional doorstep *one at a time*, probably because then I have the
illusion that I am in control of things--even if I don't like what's
happening. It's the all-at-once stuff that makes me feel helpless.
But of course none of us is help-less. And I have found (in the course of a
life thathas had its share of all-at-once stuff) that as soon as I admit
that I can't do it all by myself, the strength to cope comes back. So:
Almighty and merciful God, grant to us all (and especially your servant Larry)
grace to perceive your loving power in and around us,
as we face each decision we are called to make today,
and grant that we may find timeless joy in the working of your will;
as we pray in the name of your Son, our dear Lord Jesus Christ.
Amen
God bless and keep you and your family.
