And how about matters of birth control? (Let alone infallibility.)  I am not
intending to downplay the level of their agreement with the Pope, Alan; I
hve been curious about what happens when people do "pope".  As you may know,
the RC's in the US have a tendency
to listen to the Vatican and then go their own way.  (The recent thread on
"Shortening the Leash" was instructive, I think, as have been JPII's recent
appointments to American dioceses.)  Would you expect a similar selective
attitude amongst the people you refer to?
